Fabric Care
Special fabric needs special care , every fabric has its
own needs and uses . Here are some useful tips to keep
your garments looking new for years .
Storage
Ensure that the garments are completely clean and dry
before storing them away . Sun them properly and before
storing scatter mothballs , neem or tobacco leaves ,
tied-up in small Mullin bags , between and around the
garments.
Air
Air all garments before use at the beginning of a season
. Check for stains like rust and treat instantly .
Dry Clean
Almost all garments must be dry cleaned . Point out
stubborn marks or stains to your dry cleaner before
treatment begins .
Ironing
Most garments benefit from gentle pressing using
automatic steam press .
Tumble Drying / Bleaching
Do not tumble dry or use chlorine bleach on the
garments.
Dealing with Stains
When something is split on garments you must act quickly
. If you decide to treat the problem yourself it is
advisable to put filter paper or clean cotton cloth
below the area to be treated so that the staining
substance gets transferred on to it .
Alcoholic Drinks ( not Red Wine )
Dab gently with an absorbent cloth to remove as much
excess liquid as possible . Sponge area with a mixture
of warm water and surgical spirit in equal parts .
